AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENT BIOTECHNOLOGY COMMISSION:
BIRMINGHAM MEETING: 18-19 JULY 2001
The next to meeting of the Agriculture and Environment Biotechnology
(AEBC) will be held on 18/19 July in Birmingham at the International
Convention Centre (ICC). I am writing to invite you to attend the public
sessions of the meeting.
In the evening of 18 July, there will be public meeting to discuss Horizon
Scanning with panellists, Professor Vyvian Moses (CropGen), Dr Mark
Avery (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) and Mr Ian Gardiner
(National Farmers Union), chaired by Ms Julie Hill (AEBC Deputy Chair).
This meeting starts at 7.30 and will finish at 9.00pm.
On the morning of 19 July, evidence will be taken by the Animals and
Sub-group, on the regulatory and advisory structure. The session will
be chaired by Ms Anna Bradley (AEBC Convenor of the Subgroup). This
meeting starts at 10.00 and will finish at 1 .00pm.
Tickets are free, but are limited in number, and we shall issue tickets
on a 'first
come, first served basis. When we send out tickets we will include a
map to show you where the ICC is.
