GM public meeting May 2nd at Oxfordshire farm trial site

Public meeting at Hinton Waldrist Village Hall, Wednesday 2 May starting at 7.30pm - a public meeting to explain what is wrong with the local GM maize trial. Speakers include Jean Saunders FOE and Jo Ripley of Swindon GM group. The farmer Christopher Lewis also promises to be present.

A condition of hiring the hall is that no more than 70 people attend the meeting, that no more than 3 cars are parked in the village hall car park and that parishioners are given preference or we lose a £100 deposit.

If you want to attend the meeting, please e-mail Jean Saunders
foeswindon@hotmail.com so that she can keep track of who will be attending.

A second FST in Oxfordshire

There will be also be a farmscale trial of oil seed rape near Hinton Waldrist village, Oxfordshire at grid ref: SU 371 992 (the trial will have to be advertised in a local paper that circulates within the area affected). This is in addition to the GM maize trial at SU 377 977. I can only assume that the same farmer (Christopher Lewis, Glebe Farm, Hinton Waldrist, Faringdon, Oxon SN7 8RX) who is hosting the maize trial is also
hosting the rape trial.

Hope to see some of you at the meeting

cheers Kathryn
